Zach Lowe Shuts Down Devin Booker Trade Rumors
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

While Phoenix’s front office has publicly stated that the Suns are sticking with their big three of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal for at least one more season, trade rumors surrounding Booker have not yet subsided.

This is completely natural given how the Suns’ season ended, with a sweep at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who recently knocked out the 2023 NBA Champions, the Denver Nuggets, to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

Media personalities such as Stephen A. Smith, who is far from a reliable source, claimed almost immediately after the Suns were eliminated that Devin Booker and the New York Knicks had a mutual interest.

His sources suggesting that Booker wanted to be in New York were merely “NBA circles” chatter.

Attempting to shut down the rumors once again, ESPN’s Zach Lowe commented on what he has heard, stating:

“I continue to hear that there is no Devin Booker like trade request coming,” Lowe said on his podcast. “You know, not in the foreseeable future anyway.”

Booker has played all nine seasons of his career in Phoenix, he has been a centerpiece of some of the worst seasons in franchise history, along with some of the greatest seasons in franchise history.

If the Suns were to lose Booker in the next couple of years, they would be losing the identity of their team, ultimately signaling to the rest of the league that it is rebuilding time in the desert.
