USA TODAY Sports

The football season officially came to a close on Sunday when the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. With the 2022 season in the rear view mirror, the attention of the football world turns to the 2023 NFL Draft. Multiple former Cougars are candidates to be selected in the upcoming draft. In one recent NFL mock draft, three former BYU players were selected. Here's a recap of where they were projected to be drafted.

Blake Freeland - LA Chargers

Blake Freeland was the first Cougar off the board in this mock draft. Freeland was projected to be drafted by the LA Chargers in the third round (85th overall). During his BYU career, e one of the most consistent offensive tackles in the country. Freeland has a chance to have a long career in the NFL.

Puka Nacua - Cleveland Browns

Puka Nacua was next off the board to the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round. In his short time at BYU, Puka Nacua was one of the most exciting skill players in BYU history. Nacua possesses a rare ability to catch 50/50 balls, he is extremely dangerous after the catch, and he has displayed a field awareness to keep his feet inbounds while making acrobatic catches. Nacua is another candidate to stick in the NFL for many years.

Jaren Hall - Tennessee Titans

Jaren Hall was the next BYU Cougar off the board to the Tennessee Titans. The Titans could be a good fit for Hall - the Titans haven't found a lot of success in the pass game over the last few years.

At BYU, Hall threw for 6,174 passing yards and 52 touchdowns to just 11 interceptions. He also added 800 yards and 9 touchdowns on the ground. Hall totaled nine games in his career of 300 passing yards or more.
